Come and listen to a selection of published writers of different genres from fiction to poetry and children in different languages.

They will read from their works and books will be available to buy. You can chat to the authors, have your books signed and be inspired by the amazing talent from our region. Perfect for special Christmas gifts and supporting the local economy.

About Nabeela Ahmed

Nabeela Ahmed is a writer and multilingual poet. She performed in the opening ceremony RISE for Bradford 2025 and delivered the Artist -Led Award, The Pahari-Pothwari Literature Project. She was featured on Word of Mouth with Michael Rosen and was a poet for BBC’s Contains Strong language.

She was the Travelling Poet for Word Up North over the summer. Her first monologue, A Woman’s Work, is available on the website of the Royal Literary Fund, the Writers Mosaic page. Her debut poetry manuscript, From Kashmir to Yorkshire, was published by Yaffle Press and launched through the Bradford Literature Festival.

She hosts events and teaches creative writing in schools, community settings, for the NLT, First Story and festivals. She has curated six multilingual anthologies from such creative writing sessions which will be available to purchase.
